Government Seeks More Racial Tensions

It seems that the government is not content with the present amount of racism and seeks to uncover/invent more discrimination in Australian society and prosecute to the full extent of the law.
But....
How will litigation improve race relations?
If there aren't enough people being prosecuted will the laws tighten to make it easier to find people to incarcerate?
How will litigation enforce/enhance multiculturalism?

Article..

VICTIMS of racial injustice are being urged to pursue cases and use the “full force of the law” as part of the Gillard government’s renewed policy on multiculturalism.
Parliamentary Secretary for Immigration and Multicultural Affairs Kate Lundy told The Australian the government’s new policy would focus on educating people about existing laws and encourage their use, to send a message that racial injustice was not tolerated in Australia.
Senator Lundy said that, while she was open to creating even tougher laws to stop racism and encourage multiculturalism, she believed current provisions in federal law should be used more and the government should play a stronger role in encouraging action to stamp it out.
“It’s about calling it as a government and saying ‘yes, there is a problem and we need to address it using the full force of the law that we already have in place’,” she said.
Senator Lundy said she supported Race Discrimination Commissioner Helen Szoke, who gave qualified support to a federal multiculturalism act along the lines favoured by the Victorian Liberal government.
Dr Szoke called for a broadening of the Racial Discrimination Act to enhance multiculturalism, saying a specific act might be needed if there was found to be gaps in protections of ethnic minorities from racial vilification. She will use a review by federal Attorney-General Robert McClelland of anti-discrimination laws covering race, gender, age and sexuality to call for reforms to give ethnic minorities more rights to fight racism if a review lessens those rights.
“I think it’s a case about awareness,” Senator Lundy said. “I’m really keen to see how the human rights commission will take that campaign. We’ve provided resources.
“I think our laws are strong, I think there needs to be an awareness and education about those laws and people having a good understanding of their rights and being able to pursue complaints and challenge behaviour. That will be a terrific step for all of us.”
In the wake of the Muslim community arguing for the establishment of Koran courts and Islamic law, Senator Lundy said the multicultural policy would never allow groups to have a different set of rules.
“People come to Australia because they admire our values, so it’s not about changing Australian law; it’s about asking people to subscribe to those values.”
She said stamping out racism in the workplace was a “top priority”. “We need to remind everybody that is in a position of power and employs people that they have obligations under Australian law not to discriminate.
“We need to be educating and supporting employers to make good decisions that are not discriminatory … and supporting the people who are applying for the jobs so they know their rights and we have a good system of handling complaints.”
Senator Lundy ruled out a broader constitutional recognition of racial diversity.
“I think that our very character as a nation is one built on migration and there’s a lot inherent in who we already are,” she said. “I think it is a fact rather than some stated policy that we are multicultural, so that is not something I’m considering.
“We can’t tell people what they can and can’t do, there’s no magic clicking of fingers.”

Australia MUST Speak Asian Languages

Australian schoolchildren would be required to learn an Asian language under a proposal put forward by Deputy Opposition Leader Julie Bishop.
Ms Bishop says she will push to have the plan adopted as coalition policy before the next federal election.
http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/8380476/kids-should-learn-asian-languages-bishop

Recently there has been some debate as to whether immigrants should be able to speak fluent English before being allowed to settle in Australia. Some argued that it was racist to expect foreigners to speak the national language of a country. And by Multiculturalism's standards, they may be correct since multiculturalism encourages non-assimilating ethnic groups to settle in European countries and retain the way of life that they practiced in their previous country. Others suggested that this was a way of making it harder non-whites to immigrate (which is strange since not all whites speak English)
Whatever your opinion, there are still many people immigrating to Australia who speak almost zero English.

Why then is Julie Bishop trying to force Australians to learn an Asian language? Surely the children of the many immigrants in Australia will have further trouble having to speak one language at home, another outside the home and yet another in the classroom. And there are probably many families who would rather their children to speak the language of a culture that is more familiar in their lives. For instance, an Australian family with a Italian background may wish their children to speak Italian and this could have practical use for visits to Italy or speaking with relatives over the phone.

Julie Bishop may also be preparing for Australia to become closer with China or other Asian countries. If so, shouldn't Australia be privy to her plans for our future? Shouldn't the Australian people be asked if we would like to see further Asian-isation?
No, just like multiculturalism, Australians aren't asked for their opinion or input on the future of Australia. And to go a step further, Julie Bishop has decided to force our children to adopt her vision for Australia.

"In fact my view is it should be mandatory.
It should be an Asian language" -Julie Bishop

The reason she may be so authoritarian and forceful on the issue is because she does not have the public's backing. The public will not voluntarily accept this proposal so she seeks to have it forced.

WHAT IS RACISM ???

When Googling “racism” the first two results that appear are the Wikipedia definition followed by the Dictionary.com definition.

Wikipedia
Racism is the belief that inherent different traits in human racial groups justify discrimination.

World English Dictionary
1. The belief that races have distinctive cultural characteristics determined by hereditary factors and that this endows some races with an intrinsic superiority over others

But do you notice something odd?
The World English Dictionary would define you as racist if you believed that certain traits are hereditary.
The Wikipedia definition seems to concede that different traits ARE inherited but only when you discriminate based on this fact does it become racist.
Based on The World English Dictionary is the Wikipedia definition of racism racist?

The next Google link is RacismNoWay.com.au which gives a long winded essay but also provides this useful definition………..
Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission (1998)
Racism is an ideology that gives expression to myths about other racial and ethnic groups, that devalues and renders inferior those groups, that reflects and is perpetuated by deeply rooted historical, social, cultural and power inequalities in society.

And the next link………..
http://www.globalissues.org/article/165/racism
Racism is the belief that characteristics and abilities can be attributed to people simply on the basis of their race and that some racial groups are superior to others.

Again, something odd about these definitions.
Say for instance someone says “East Africans make great runners”
According to HREOC this would not be racist since it is not a myth and does not devalue East African people.
According to Global Issues.org this would be racist since it attributes characteristics and abilities to a race and implies that they are superior in this aspect.
Or we could go even simpler, “East Africans are dark skinned”. According to Global Issues.org and Dictonary.com this would be a racist statement since it implies that the characteristic of dark skin is the result of heritage. If you expanded the statement to “East Africans are dark skinned and they are less likely to get sunburnt when compared to white Australians” now you have also implied a superior trait and you fit the dictionary definition of racism.

The definitions of sexism seem to be far better thought out in both Wikipedia and the World Dictionary and specifies that it is only discrimination when the person believes that certain characteristics effect UNRELATED areas.
A sexist statement "Woman cant play sport because they have breasts"
A non sexist statement "Women may need to take different considerations to men when playing sport such as using a sport bra"

So back to "racism", what can be concluded from the various definitions?
There seems to be two main definitions of racism.
  1. A hatred or discrimination against a certain race or races
  2. Acknowledging that race exists

For the purpose of clarity and common sense, Anti Racists Against Multiculturalism will choose the former definition, “A hatred or discrimination against a certain race or races”.

Demand For Ethnics To Australianise

National anthem plan puzzles Vic schools

"State Multicultural Minister Nick Kotsiras says up to a quarter of migrant children don't feel like they're Aussies and he wants to reverse the trend and have them join his "Team Australia", including by singing the anthem regularly.
"It's about making sure that our students, especially those new migrants, feel a part of the school community," the Greek-born government minister told reporters in Melbourne on Tuesday."
http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/8377538/push-for-all-victorian-kids-to-sing-anthem

Puzzling indeed.
Minister Nick Kotsiras has done a back flip and rejected the progressive Multicultural agenda which he once vigorously supported in favor of the outdated goal of integration and assimilation.
It's strange. As a child I never remember any attempt from teachers or government to make French migrant students more Australian. Neither did they bother with English, Croatian or Italian migrants. And there seems to be no debate regarding these migrant groups compatibility in Australia.

Could it be that this proposal is targeted at Arab Muslims and Africans?
Could it be that Nick Kotsiras regards Arabs and African cultures to be vastly different from our own?
Do these migrants want to be part of Australian culture?
What if they don't want to assimilate?
What if Australians will not accept them regardless of how Anglo/Celtic they behave?
Is it not the key role of multiculturalism to have many vastly different cultures living in the one country practicing their own culture?

Nick Kotsiras is a self described "Proud Greek". Not a proud Aussie, but a proud Greek. This is puzzling for two reasons. Greeks are white Europeans which may lead some to believe that Nick Kotsiras is embracing White Pride. As a multiculturalist he should subscribe to the belief that white people do not have a culture or heritage. Secondly, Nick Kotsiras believes that Africans/Arabs/Asians living in Australia should identify as Australian when he himself often describes himself as Greek.

But we really cant read too much into Nick Kotsiras ramblings. After all, Muticulturalists are hypocrites at their core. As long as we are deceived into believing that Multiculturalism is the same thing as Immigration very few will speak out or make the simple suggestion.......
If cultures are NOT compatible, do NOT force them to mix in an attempt to prove ideological philosophies .

African-Australian. Americas Divisions Mirrored in Australia

"MELBOURNE'S African communities, particularly those from the Horn of Africa, are in danger of becoming socially excluded because of unemployment rates pushing 90 per cent."
"It is claimed younger Africans who have studied in Australia find it hard to gain work because of racist attitudes."
http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/african-doctors-are-driving-melbournes-taxis-20111113-1ndsh.html#ixzz1dj62N8he

Another example of the failure of multiculturalism.

Is it harder for Africans to find work in Australia due to negative attitudes towards African people?
Should affirmative action be enforced in Australia to ensure that Africans have the equal outcomes to non Africans?
If measures are not taken will African unemployment lead to disenfranchised youth turning to gangs and violence?
Would unemployed African youth gangs lead to further racism and stigmatization of Africans in Australia?
Will Australians be made to apologized for making Africans feel isolated and unwelcome and asked to pay reparations and form programs and charities that only benefit Africans?

The debate is nothing new. Americans have been dealing with similar questions and they are yet to find any solution that is embraced by both African Americans and non African Americans. The damage has been done and America looks to have a future of inequality and division for decades to come.

But one thing is for sure. Increasing African immigration to Australia will not decrease discrimination or improve African employment levels. Allot of Africans are clearly unhappy in Australia and many Australians are unhappy to have Africans in their suburbs. The numbers of Africans in Australia is extremely low yet we are already having these issue brought up in mainstream media.

Remember who it is that is taking people from of violent war torn countries and introducing them in to unfamiliar environments. Who is to blame? Is it the racist whites? Is it the tribal Africans? Or is it the fault of the government who is forcing integration of two vastly different cultures/peoples?

What Can Australians Learn From Ned Kelly?

As we approach the memorial of Ned Kelly’s death (Nov 11th) no doubt there will be a snippet of news broadcast showing flowers outside the Old Melbourne Gaol and a statement from Victorian Police who will again defame Ned as a cold blooded murderous thief.

"130 years hasn't diminished the fact that he (Kelly) was a multiple murderer.
I can't understand how we can lionise a multiple murderer ... because he wrapped a bit of tin around his head.
"What's wrong with this country?" -The coward Snr Sgt Davies,

To many Ned was a true Australian, a courageous hero who stood up to tyrannical Victorian Police. But to many he is nothing more than a common criminal. More than likely his biggest crime is being an Australian icon, part of our history and a symbol which many tattoo on their bodies and display on their cars.
As Australian identity becomes increasing taboo any figures that give us a sense of pride or belonging will be seen as Nationalism and stamped out from schools and media in favor of a view that disparages our past and celebrates a future where our heroes will be more representative of our multicultural society.

Ned Kelly was far removed from the modern man. He was a man unwilling to submit himself to be trialed by a corrupt and unjust system. Today we can see that our governments do not represent us, they see no need to consult the public before making important decisions which effect our present and future yet we are expected to live under their rule and support their system.
Unless we take a stand as Ned Kelly did there will be no limits as to how far they will go. Internet censorship, thought crimes, excessive surveillance….. the ball is in their court. And should we find ourselves at the receiving end of ludicrous laws that seek to stifle freedom would we surrender ourselves to the judicial system in good faith that common sense will prevail and we will be duly processed?
Many people from all over the European/Western world are rotting in jail for expressing unpopular beliefs while rapists and murderers are let off with minimum sentences after telling a sob story about growing up in poor suburbs consisting of minority groups.
As we all know, anyone who dares stand up to the system will be met with excessive force and will be used as an example as to what happens to those who dare question authority. Ned Kelly had already made it clear in his past that he did not respect the Victorian Police and no doubt this played a role in his being framed for attempted murder. As Ned refused to hand himself in to the corrupt Victorian Police to face false charges he became an outlaw. As Ned refused to let himself be shot he became a cop killer. This resulted in a bounty put on his head sanctioned by the queen herself who allowed any citizen to murder the Kelly gang and be rewarded £8,000, approx $400,000 in today’s money. (Ned’s burning of the banks mortgage papers increased the original bounty, I’m sure it also increased his popularity in the eyes of the mortgage holders).
This snowball effect is what keeps the rest of us inline. Don’t pay a fine and you will receive and extra fee. Don’t pay the extra fee and the reminder notice will come with another fee. Don’t pay both fees and you will receive a fee to cover the cost of a warrant against yourself. The list goes on.
Ned Kelly took it all the way. He brought the fight to them. He refused to back down. He did not subscribe to the Australian cliché “She’ll be right” or the more common, “shit happens”, he would NOT rest on what he saw as a great injustice. Hundreds of thousands supported him at the time of his death. Sadly it seems that Australian society does not support Ned nearly as much as he was supported in his time. But if you are an underdog, a Catholic or an Irishman, somebody who has felt powerless in the face of injustice or just a true blue Aussie; spare a thought for Ned Kelly this 11th of November and remember the influence one man with a strong belief can have even 130 years after his death.
RIP
Ned Kelly
1855 – 1880

I encourage you to watch Ned Kelly 2003 with Heath Ledger. I believe it is the best Kelly film.
Those who are more adventurous may want to travel into Kelly country. See the sites, learn the story.
UPDATE
Well I never would have expected the amount of defamation that would be thrown at Ned this year.

Statement from police, (the coward and lair Secretary Greg Davies)
"There is no worse liar than a revisionist historian and I get sick and tired of people lionising someone who was a multiple murderer," he said today.
"He wasn't a Robin Hood, he didn't steal from the rich and give to the poor, he stole from everyone and kept the proceeds for himself.
"There is very little difference between Ned Kelly and Carl Williams. They were both multiple murderers who had no regard for anyone and who ended up dying violent deaths."
which is the second year in the row he has used the word "lionise" (very impressive word)
He also failed to learn anything about Ned's generous handing out of money to the Irish farmers who were locked up while their crops died and family starved due to the Victorian police's corrupt policy of illegally imprisoning those who verbally supported Ned.
Carl Williams was no hero, yet he was most likely murdered for threatening to leak information on police corruption.  So yes, they did both end up dying violent deaths at the hands of corrupt Victorian Police, so not an all together terrible example.

This poll from the age shows our society is both uneducated and brainwashed by mainstreme media propaganda.
There was also overwhelming hatred from talk back radio, particularity conservative 2GB and MTR whose reactionary, misinformed stupidity was unmatched. Especially the comments of the Herald Sun Editor who made numerous defamatory comparisons between Hitler and Ned Kelly.

RIP Edward Kelly
Thank god you didn't live to see what we have become
